John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

When we think about miracles in the New Testament, we usually consider Christs miracles in the gospel accounts. Accounts of Jesus performing miracles are found beyond the confines of the New Testament.

Another reason why Jesus performed miracles was to show Jesus was sent from God, that He was the Son of Man (a messianic title), and that He was the Son of God. Jesus’ different miracles in ministry gave him the glory of deity, and helped to convince people that Jesus was Gods Son; God in person. Understanding how His divinity was revealed by miracles in the Old Testament, it should come as no surprise that Jesus also performed miracles. Likewise, the miracles of Jesus varied ministry revealed his strength.

1 Timothy 2:5 – For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Throughout Jesus ministry, many saw His miracles as ends in themselves, not pointing toward anything greater. These miracles are meant to serve you, to lead you toward God through the Son of God, Jesus. Jesus miracles were done through the power of the Holy Ghost, which descended on him at his baptism, and worked in him and through him.

Here is a commandment statement that Jesus gave to His 12 disciples, But when the Holy Spirit has come on You shall have power. Go forth and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of God and of Jesus and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things I command you. Jesus came to his 12 disciples and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The primary reason Jesus apostles performed miracles was to glorify God and Jesus, as well as the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus primary reasons for performing his miracles were to glorify God the Father, and announce that the Kingdom of God had arrived in the flesh.

Many Christians view Jesus miracles as a historical occurrence, with Jesus miracles being a significant part of his life, evidence of his deity, and of a hypostatic union, that is, Jesus being both God and man. Most Christians are aware of the fact that Jesus performed numerous miracles, but they might be surprised to know about a few that they did not previously know about. Jesus miracles raised people from the dead, fed thousands, controlled nature, banished evil spirits, and healed the sick. The Jews at Jesus time were fairly advanced in medical science, and were rather proud of their achievements – because of that, miracles of that kind were given by God to Jesus, ones which Jews were perfectly aware of, and that no power in nature could do as his did.

Proverbs 8:35-36 – For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.   (Read More…)

On the Day of Pentecost, Peter confirmed this saying God showed/proved Jesus through miracles that God did through Jesus. The wonder of the Incarnation is the fact that Jesus Christ became all we are, while never ceasing to be all that He was. He is the one and the same Son, and his miraculous act makes us, as his disciples, worship at Gods mysteries.

Jesus Christ commands his disciples to be strong, and to be afraid, for He, who went over the waters, is Yahweh. At first glance, the fact that Jesus walks on water in Matthew 14 seems to confirm he is working miracles as a human being empowered by the Spirit. The question of how humans work miracles is relegated to the wonders of Jesus Christ, while simultaneously avoiding the fact of who He is as the Son of God.

John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Supernatural phenomena of miracles are impressive, and they honor God; yet, Gods rescue of the spiritually dead sinner through His grace is His greatest miracle, which apostles will wholeheartedly affirm. That the miracle was designed by Jesus especially to teach His disciples to depend first on their faith in Jesus, when facing obstacles.

INTERESTING FACT – Miracles of Jesus Christ prove that God made the Heaven and the Earth in 7-days. Human beings are made in the Image of God and science proves that everyday.

What Jesus did here at Cana in Galilee was the first of his signs by which he revealed his glory; and His disciples believed in Him. Truly, Jesus told the crowd, If you have a little faith like mustard seeds, you can tell that hill, Move from this place to that place, and it will move.

JAMES 3

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
