Delivered...and Daily Bread... ?!
There are churches and Christians that claim, that we are delivered from the Law of God and therefor the Law doesnot apply anymore.... Is this really true? Is our Bible telling us that? Or maybe even more important: is that what Jesus is telling and teaching us?

What Jesus is teaching/telling us:

Matthew 5:18-19 - Keep and teach the 10-Commandments to others!
'For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.'

Matthew 24:11-12 - Do not go against the Law of God, because this is sin [=iniquity]
'And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.'

1 John 3:4 - sin is the transgression of the Law
'Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law.'

What the Disciples/Apostles tell/teach us

Romans 8:4 - Righteousness of the Law needs to be fulfilled...
'that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.'

1 John 3:4 - Committing sin = transgressing the Law of God
'Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the Law.'

Jacob 2:10 - With 'The Law' the (10-)Commandments of God are meant!
'For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one commandment, he is guilty of all.'

Revelations 12:17 - Keep the Commandments of God and testify of Jesus
'he [=the devil!] went to make war with the remnant of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.'

Revelations 14:12 - Keep the Commandments of God and the faith of Jesus
'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. '

The Apostles are very clear on the part of the Law -the Commandments of God- being valid. The Commandments are valid and have to be applied by everyone. Of course we also need to be in Christ -by the baptism of immersion- and by being a partaker of the Spirit -by laying on hands- and only then we can fulfill what the Law requires of us.

Romans 8:4 however also makes very clear to us, that the Spiritual Gifts have to result in Fruit of the Spirit; a changing heart and action. Merely keeping the Law cannot justify us!!!

John 16:8
'The Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. And when He is come, He will reprove the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment'.

The Spirit will convict us of sin, righteousness and judgement

John 15:9-10 - Abide in my love and keep my commandments
'As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you. Continue ye in My love. If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.'

Jesus respects His Fathers Commandments (The Law) and Jesus asks from us to keep his commandments as well; the commandments of Jesus are:

How to keep the commandments of Jesus according to Gods Wil? By keeping the Commandments of God; just as Jesus did!

After all: [read Exodus 20]

  • How to love God: Commandments 1 to 4 tell us how
    • There is only one God [the Father],
    • we are not to make statues or worship statues,
    • we have to honour Gods Name by not using His Name in a bad way and
    • we have to keep the Sabbath-day holy. [Sabbath-day=Friday sunset till Saturday sunset].

  • How to love the people around you: Commandments 5 to 10 tell us how
    • Respect your parents
    • Do not commit adultery
    • Do not steal
    • Do not give false testimonies
    • Do not covet things that are not yours

    Gods Law is still valid

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:18-19
'For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.'

    Conclusions
All and Earth have not passed away yet. Jesus has not returned to us either and the final judgement on the world has not been passed by Jesus either.

The Law is still valid for all of us, but everyone that is baptised in the Name of Jesus and also has become a partaker in the Spirit and confessess his/her transgressions to Jesus [asking for the daily bread] will be forgiven and will receive Gods Mercy.

Not the keeping of the Law can justify us before God, but the changed heart as a result of it -leading to the fruit of the Spirit- will justify us before God!

    AMEN !
