2,300 evenings and mornings...
Daniel 8:14 'And he said to him, For two thousand, three hundred evenings and mornings; then the holy place will be made clean'.

Daniel 8:26 'And the vision of evenings and mornings which has been talked of is true: and keep the vision secret; for it has to do with the far-off future'.

During a walk through a cornfield Hiram Edson, a simple Christian farmer, had a vision in which he was made clear, that Jesus would not return to Earth after the 2300 evenings and mornings (1 evening+1 morning = 1 day; Genesis 1), but that Jesus would go to the Holy of Holy in the Heavenly Temple.

Hiram started counting form the year the Earthly Temple was rebuilt (457 BC) and he added 2300 years (1 profetical day = a year; Ezekial 4:6 / Num. 14:34) and so he came in the year 1844. Hiram learned from Daniel 8:14, that Jesus would return to us, because He would restore injustice here on Earth. And that really was a normal thought, because most Christians think that, when Jesus went up to Heaven, He went to the Holy of Holy and therefrom justice would be done.

I also thought that this would be the case only now I know that this can't be true, because Jesus didnot return in 1844. I had heard of the cornfield-vision, but I couldn't tell if it was the truth or just a made-up fantasy. Because Hiram was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist; a group of Christians that believed Jesus would return in 1844. And of course Jesus didn't return as we now know.

Would Hiram be very sad after the year 1844 went by and would he have made up a vision ? Like I said: I couldn't see any truth in this vision, but still I prayed and asked God: "If there is any truth in this vision can you please show it to me ?!". But I must admit...nothing happened. And I actually gave up finding out if there was any truth in this vision untill suddenly I saw a small drawing of the Jewish Temple...

The candlesticks in the Holy of the Earthly Temple...
Of course I already read Revelations and I knew the first chapter starts with Jesus and the Candlesticks and I saw a drawing of the Holy of the temple and I suddenly knew that Hiram's vision was real. Revelations first chapter is about Jesus talking of His parishes, the Candlesticks, so that must be where he was before 1844.

Also then I read of the symbolism behind the Jewish Temple-rituals. In the Holy of the Temple there was the Candlestick, but also the bread-table with the priestly bread on it. Of this bread, being brought there on a Sabbath, the priests ate for a week. And this bread was right in front the Arc in the Holy of Holy. Jesus represents our daily bread. The candlestick is His Body; all people that acknowledge Him as their personal Saviour. And the Arc is the Throne of God.

Suddenly I thought of something I had read in the Bible: what is declared committed in Heaven will also be declared committed on Earth and the other way around. I suddenly understood that everything that had been shown by the Earthly Temple rituals was a mirror of what would be in Heaven !!!

Once a year: Yom Kippur; Judgement-day...!
Once every year at Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, one priest would go to the Holy of Holy in the Temple. On this judgement-day all Jewish people would gather around the Earthly Temple and the priest would slaughter a goat and cleanse the Holy of Holy of the Earthly Temple with its blood. The blood of the Lamb would be sprankled there as a symbol of cleansing. Of course we now know the goat (lamb) is Jesus. The blood of the goat (lamb) is the sacrifice of Jesus at the Cross.

After the sprankeling of the blood the priest would load the sin of the people on a ram and this ram would be sent away in the desert. This ritual symbolises the purpose of judgement-day: giving back all sin to the devil, because the devil, satan, had brought sin upon Gods Children !

I then fully understood what was happening in 1844: this was the year the Priest of Men entered the Holy of Holy in Heaven: JUDGEMENTDAY was starting from that day on. An investigation would start to find out who followed GOD in Jesus and Spirit and who followed satan in world and his spirits. Before Jesus went to the Holy of Holy he was (remember the bread in the Holy) in the Holy of the Temple. Our every-day bread has started His cleansing-work in Heaven !!!.

The Book of Daniel tells us, that a court of justice will take place at the end. Revelations tells us about satan's future and all that follow him in his wicked ways. God showed Hiram all this in a simple vision. A very biblical vision. A vision that connects with the Jewish rituals in the Temple. Hiram's vision is a vision of Truth !
