New-Age-goeroes of today: Schuller & Crystal Church
In big TV-shows Schuller tells us how our Bible can lead you to personal success in life; how people with a 'positive attitude' can be very succesful and how they are able to achief peace, joy and succes. Schuller also likes to mention and point at the rich and successful member of 'his church'...

How 'New-Age -Psychology' with a 'Christian gravy' on top can lead to big success... Schuller -of course- is a very high (33-degree) Freemason; a very high Illuminati.

The story of Jesus…
Jesus died for our sin at the cross; a horrible way to die. Furthermore Jesus didnot own houses or property, slaves or animals. Jesus didnot have a fat savingsaccount either. And the 'well-to-do' of the Jewish community despised Him! Jesus also gave instructions to his disciples, that they shouldnot take any money for the work He had asked them to do.

And the disciples were also despised by the Jewish community and they were imprisoned, tortured and killed by the sword, by stoning or at the cross. By means of 'worldly measures' neither Jesus nor the disciples had a rich or successful life at all. Far from it!!!

Why Jesus came to this world?
Jesus came to our world to testify of the Truth. And of course to testify of God: His Father in Heaven. And -maybe even more important for us- to re-establish our bond with God. The pupils of Jesus -just like all other Christians- keep the Commandments of God and testify of Jesus; by their personal-state and actions towards others.

All Christians/disciples are to teach people from the Bible, to evangelize and to baptize. Their message will always be: 'everyone that will take Jesus as his or her personal Saviour -by being baptized- will receive eternal life!' They also cure people from diseases by means of the laying on of hands.

The story of Schuller and Crystal Church 2.000 years later…
From Schullers' TV-appearances we learn something quite different. Schuller basically aims at (positive-)behaviour. And -of course- that we can 'manage our lives' and as a result of that we can establish succes, friends and a beautiful future on this Earth. And in global-terms we can even work at 'peace', 'building beautiful things', 'experience the power of a positive prayer' and 'make a friendly gesture...'.

What Schuller asks from us in this world…
In short: we have to take action ourselves and realize peace and justice ourselves. We have to build beautiful things, we have to be 'positive', we have take positive actions, to pray positive and to make 'friendly gestures'. We can simply do-it-ourselves !

But...isn't this exactly what 'the New-Age-Movement' is about?! Yes: that is exactly what New Age is about!!!

-Schuller's book…-

The difference between Christians and 'New Agers'
Schuller appears to be nothing more than a 'New Age-Psychologist' that has poored some 'Christian-gravy' over 'his teachings'.

The difference between Christians and 'New Agers'[=Schuller!] ?

Christians:

  • Take both Jesus and God as 'starting point' in their lives
  • Know, that they cannot do 'it' themselves
  • Are changing -in Jesus and in Spirit with the aid of the Spirit- in thinking/doing towards others
  • Evangelize, teach, baptize and cure (others!)
  • In doing and being -in person- they are fruit for God and bearing fruit for God
  • New-Agers & Schuller('s disciples)

  • Take both themselves and their current situation as a 'starting point'
  • Believe, that they -by means of behaviour and thinking- can do everything themselves and achieve any goal
  • Think that personal succes -by means of positive behaviour and actions- is the ultimate goal
  • Are using 'a succes-formula' to change themselves and their ways
  • Try to encourage others to do the same (each person for him-/herself)
  • Think, that 'the fruit of positive behaviour' consists of succes, (inner-)peace, love and selfesteem.

Differences between Christians and New-Agers in short:

  • the fundaments: God/Jesus versus 'ego, ego-succes' and one's (positive-)behaviour'
  • the goal: being fruitful and bearing fruit(for someone else) versus 'being 'egoistically' successful'
  • the actions: with the Christian-fundaments busy for others versus 'egocentric-starting points and goals'
  • way of acting: with fundaments & Bible versus 'for ego & with Schuller-books/programs'
  • the results: Eternal Life (later) versus 'positive- and successful life now'

  • A few passages from 'The hour of power Christmas-edition' (Dutch-issue 2003)
  • 'Peace by love and understanding'
  • 'Change your sadness in joy'
  • 'December…the month of the friendly gesture…'
  • 'Are you a failure?…No way!
  • When I read these phrases for the first time I remember I thought: 'well, that sounds allright to me!'. What can be wrong with 'a friendly gesture' by showing love and understanding or by telling people, that they are no failures...? A few seconds later I understood the danger behind the suggested 'Christianity', because I realised, that:

    God doesnot ask us to:

  • 'work at peace'
  • 'to change sadness in happiness'
  • 'to make a friendly gesture'
  • 'to be a succesful person'
  • God does asks from us -through Jesus-:

  • To take Him and Jesus as starting points in our lives; in thinking and doing (accordingly)
  • To keep His (10-)Commandments and the Commandments of Jesus
  • To tell everyone of Jesus, The Gospel and eternal life
  • To teach people from the Holy Bible
  • To baptize people in the Name of Jesus
  • To exercise the wil of God with the Spirit(ual Gifts) of God and
  • To cure people with the Spirit of God
  • To be a fruit of the Spirit in that way, so we can be fruitful for God
  • And you know: the fun-part is: with God and Jesus as starting points and by doing what they ask from you, we become:

But...in doing so the community will consider you a nasty, wining, silly old spoilsport. Because you won't be acting and doing things their ways or in their ways. You will do it the way Christ would do it...and that is not the 'way of the world'....!

The same community will only consider you 'positive' when you join them 'in their way of doing things', when you have money or when you are famous, or when you have great looks and beautiful clothes and possesions to go along with it and when you will do anything (language, friends and behaviour) 'to belong to the crowd'.

Goeroe Schuller turns both Jesus and Bible into 'success-goeroes'…
You can buy Schullers' books, at least: when you contribute a certain 'minimum donation'. Schuller almost never points towards the Bible and when he does he is not able to keep it in a biblical context... Some examples taken from 'the special Christmas-edition':
  • 'Are you a failure? No way!
  • In this article Schuller justifies the egocentric drive for success with a passage from Proverbs 3 verse 6 ' in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths'.

Can we conclude from this Proverbs-passage, that if we -when we have God in our lives- He will make us successful or that we shall be succesful? No, not at all! It simply means, when you have God in your life your ways will (have to) be without deceit or injustice. But this ways won't be 'the way to worldly success, wealth or worldpeace...

    Schuller's 'management-story' and 'worldly success'
Schuller wrote many stories in many books for which you have got to pay the minimum price. And only then you can read how you can become a beloved, successful, rich and famous person. But also when you write Schuller a nice letter without any connections to God, Jesus, Faith or Commandments you can get sheer fame, because it will be published in his books or leaflets.

    Schullers' success-story has his successors...

  • Bill Hybels (Willowcreek Community Church)
  • Adam Curry (a DJ that want to become a TV-preacher for Crystal Church)
  • Bill Hybels is following in the footsteps of his master: Schuller. With management- and marketing books filled with methods and advices he promises instant community-growth. Communication, organisation and leadership are his tools of success.

Hybels also makes us believe, that 'we can also do it ourselves!'. And just like Schuller Hybels also earns a lot of money with his formula... And just like 'his master Schuller' he won't be referring to biblical fundaments and personal change. He will try to convince you, that respecting eachother and consensus are the major issues to get along just fine! Of course: biblical fundaments can only give problems, because those fundaments are not what the world expects of you, but what God expects of you....

A simple but sound word of advice:
Keep your money in your pockets and take both God and Jesus as starting points in your life. And let the Holy Spirit of God be your personal manager and advisor. Only in this way you are save and keeping the people around you save and sane as well!
