The Holy Spirit…a person or not?!
For all people that believe in the Roman-Catholic-fabricated (unbiblical)'trinity-dogma' it seems all to clear: the Holy Spirit is a person.
 | |
However: neither the Bible, nor Jesus, nor the apostles teach or tell about the Roman-Catholic 'trinity-theory' at all; even worse... who only has a 'trinity-god' has:
- no
Human-and-mediator as a High Priest before GOD; as a consequence
- no
Saviour from sin
- no
Gospel!
|
If the trinity-doctrine is false...can it be that the Holy Spirit isnot a person either?!
The Holy Spirit: sent and received seperately
We know from the Bible (Acts) that the Spirit was poared out seperately from GOD and Jesus; this could suggest that the Spirit is a person. Also the fact the we can receive the Spirit seperately could also indicate that the Spirit is a person.
If the Holy Spirit isnot a person; then what is he?!
The Holy Spirit...of GOD !
The Holy Spirit doesnot point at himself (as many persons tend to do), but points out sin, righteousness and judgement; and he points towards Truth (Jesus ánd GOD) of course. That is why the Holy Spirit is also known as 'The Spirit of Truth'.
The Spirit is -as almost everyone will know- the Spirit of GOD; and GOD is the Highest Majesty in Heaven; Jesus is sitting at the right sight of this Majesty our Bible tells us. The Holy Spirit is the personality of GOD !
1 Thessalonians 4:8 - God gives unto us His Spirit
'He therefore that despiseth this, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us His Holy Spirit'.
Hebrews 8:1 - Jesus sits at the right hand of GOD
'Now of the things of which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such a High Priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens'.
You may think: 'well, now tell me...is the Spirit a person or not!'. No; he is not a person, but he is the personality of GOD; not of himself.
Then what is the right-and biblical way of seeing the Spirit?!
The might and personality of GOD
We know from the Bible, that the Holy Spirit is called the Might, Strength and Blessing of GOD; in this way you also summarize how GOD works through us. We also know, that receiving the Spiritual Gifts actually means: becoming a partaker of the Spirit of GOD...
Ephesians 3:14-16 - Gods Spirit is Gods Glorie & Might
'For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man'.
Hebr. 6:4 - Receiving spiritual Gifts = being made partaker of the Spirit
'those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,'.
Luke 1:35 - The Holy Spirit is the Power of the Highest
'
'The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore also that Holy Being who shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God'.
2 Corinthians 13:4 - Jesus also lives by the Power of GOD
'For though He was crucified through weakness, yet He liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.'.
Colossenzen 2:12 - In Jesus we also live by Gods Power
'Ye are buried with Him in baptism, wherein ye also are risen with Him through the faith wrought by the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead'.
In short: after the laying on of hands we do not receive a person, but we become partaker in the Spirit of GOD. In that way we receive Gods Blessing which we call 'Gifts' or 'Power'or 'Insight', etc.
The Holy Spirit & the Fruit of the Spirit...
Gods Spirit actually is Gods Strength, Blessing or Wil. And the Spirit can bless whomever he wants. But the goal finally is that the one that receives the blessing will ultimately grow in the Fruit of the Spirit!
The Bible tells us the following about the Fruit of the Spirit:
Galathians 5:22 - The Spiritual Fruit will become visable within us
'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance'.
Ephesians 5:9
- 'for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth'
