The history of the Sabbath
Not many people know that the day of God, the real Sabbath as mentioned in the 10 Commandments, is not the Sunday, but Friday-sunset till Saturday-sunset. This story is about why God started the Sabbath, how Jesus celebrated the Sabbath and how we should still honour the Sabbath…

Sabbath: the day of God
After six days of creating God decided to declare a day of rest. This seventh day of the week became a symbol of all created by God; Gods Sabbath.

On this seventh day of the week we remember and celebrate that God created all there is including ourselves. It is a day on which we express our thankfulness to God. A day of praise, a day of worship, a day of prayer. A day that starts at Friday-evening sundown and ends at sundown on Saturday (24 hrs.).

Sabbath: Gods day of rest given to men
"Keep the Sabbath" says the 4-th Commandment of the 10-Commandments of God.

A lot of years after God created the Earth Moses received the 10-Commandments from God for his people. The 4-th Commandment gave them the instruction to honour the Sabbath just as God had done.

The Commandments gave formality to a new covenant between God and men. A new covenant for Adam and Eve broke the old covenant with God when they decided to eat the forbidden fruit.

Jesus and the Sabbath
Jesus himself kept the Sabbath as the Bible tells us. On Sabbath he often went to the Synagoge for school and prayer. In the gospel by Matthew Jesus tells us that He didn't come to abolish the Law of His Father, but to give the 10 Commandments their true meaning: The Spirit of The Law. Jesus also tells us, that no letter will be abolished from The Law and the Prophets before He will return to us.

Jesus Christ, our living example why we call ourselves Christians, was a Jew. Jesus clearly said, that His Fathers Law, The Law of God remains valid as a whole untill He returns. Of course including the Sabbath !

How the Sunday was established…
The Roman Emperor Constantine decided that the Holy day of God, the Sabbath, should be abolished. And in the same time Constantine announced the day of the Sun-worshippers, the Sunday, the "new Sabbath" for both Christians and Sun-worshippers.

Constantine decided to change Gods Law for strategic-governmental reasons. He thought it was a good idea to unite Christians and Sun-worshippers. This would be good for his Empire. So Sun-worshippers suddenly became Roman-churchmembers and a human being placed himself above God by abolishing the Sabbath.

How did the Roman Catholic Church respond to this change ?
Before Constantine changed Gods Law the early christians -before forming the Roman Catholic Church- also honoured the 4-th Commandment, had the baptism of faith and kept the Sabbath.

For the Roman Church the main reasons to follow Constantine were keeping the power and anti-semitism ("didn't the Jews kill Jesus ?"). And so the Roman Catholics started to teach their followers that the Sunday was a biblical-thing-to-do till this very day.

Reasons and lies today…
Some of you readers were always told and thaught that the Sunday was the day of the resurrection of Jesus and that's why the the Sabbath was changed into Sunday. This change had and has nothing to do with the love of Jesus. Nothing. Besides that: Jesus rose from the death on Saturday-afternoon after sunset and not on a Sunday!.

When you really follow Jesus you honour His Father and His Fathers Law in full. Just as Jesus did. Following Jesus is what being or becomming a Christian is all about !

Consequences because of the abolishing of the Sabbath…

The Sunday became a symbol of:

  1. The dishonouring and desecrating of the 10 Commandments of God
  2. The desecrating of the Body of Christ Sun-worshippers and Christians became state-churchmembers
  3. The desecrating of charity; the Sunday was esthablished out of a lack of charity (because of anti-semitism)
  4. Mankind placing themselves above God (just as Adam and Eve did when they ate the forbidden fruit) by abolishing on of the Laws of God
  5. Mankinds' straying of from God

Did it really happen like this ?!
Yes ! Unfortunately it happened like this. A quick view in your history books, around the 4-th Century, teaches us that it really happened as we told you now. But not only the history books mention this sad story, but also the book of Daniel and Revelations tell the same story ! Can you imagine that !? God told us this would happen more than 2.000 years ago…

God tells us, that the misstep of the Roman Catholic Church will have consequences for all Christians.

What will happen next ?!
What isn't esthablished by Human hands, cannot be changed by Human hands. The 10 Commandments are given by God and only to be kept by us Human Beings. The 10 Commandments form the new convenant between God and Humans.

Perhaps you have heard of an older convenant between God and men. A convenant called "The Ark". The house of God. This house of God should only be transported by carrying it with wooden girders on two sides of The Ark. No human hand was to touch the Ark !!!

The story of Uza; King Davids friend touched the Ark of God…
In the story of King David that wanted to transport The Ark we know that Uza, King Davids friend, touched the Ark, because it fell of a cart. Uza only wanted to keep theArk from falling of the cart. Uza died instantly !!!

This story learns us, that no human should "touch" (abolish, change, destroy etc) Gods convenant with us, Gods Laws. Even if "we mean it well" ; we shouldn't try to !

So it's evident that changing the Sabbath into Sunday, as the Romans and The Roman Catholic Church did, will cause them great harm.

Being Christian means laying down your human crown and acknowledging God as your true and only King. And one can only do so by acknowledging His Law, His Son and His Spirit in our lives.

How to go further from here …?
You now know that Gods Sabbath is the day we Christians should honour. This day starts at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday. Tell God in your prayer you didn't know that Sabbath was changed into Sunday and that you will honour Him by honouring His day of rest.

But don't keep your new knowledge for yourself, but tell your family, tell your friends, tell everyone you know.

Read the study of Daniel 2 which you can also find on this webpage and try to understand what the Holy Spirit has told Daniel of what is to come. Then you can understand the role of the Catholic Church and the deception by this church and what the consequences for many Christians will be.

A true disciple of Jesus, a Christian, lays aside his crown and follows Him, follows His Commandments and changes to His image.
